Our Vision

To partner with a few like-minded individuals and organisations who value - long-term relationships, integrity, kindness, trust, innovation, respect for one another – and who celebrate and appreciate diversity as well as have a strong desire to preserve and improve our beautiful continent and planet.

About us

The Savanna Foundation was formed in 2020 by three passionate South Africans.  We believe that a quality education is essential - it empowers individuals to reach their full potential, enabling them to consider and access greater opportunities, and lead happier and more fulfilling lives.

The three founders have a genuine, great love for the diversity of the African continent - from its vibrant people to its natural wonders and beautiful scenery.

We feel strongly, in the need to help support and partner with like-minded organisations and individuals in order to tackle some of the challenges we face in our current times such as unequal access to quality education, safety and security for vulnerable communities, entrepreneurial growth, and skills development opportunities.

Despite initially feeling overwhelmed, we are motivated by the fact that even if we can help one person or a small group of people on our continent, it would still have a positive impact. Imagine what would be possible if we all tried to achieve this!

“Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have”

— Margaret Mead

MEET THE TEAM

We strive to provide sunlight and hope in the lives of others.

Our team possesses a diverse skill set and with varied interests. We believe that we can assist fellow organisations working with under-served communities to further their impact and access additional resources to enhance the livelihoods of those they serve. We chose the name ‘Savanna’ because of its connection to the African continent.

“The African Savanna ecosystem is a tropical grassland with warm temperatures year-round and with its highest seasonal rainfall in the summer. The ‘savanna’ is characterised by grasses and small or dispersed trees that do not form a closed canopy, allowing sunlight to reach the ground”.
